We are changing the name of our podcast
Why?
Over the past few months, I’ve caught myself drifting a bit off-script.
Not in a bad way—but in a way that made me stop and think.
We started Specifically for Seniors to talk about the realities of aging—health, finances, purpose. But more and more, our conversations have been drifting into something bigger:
frustration with politics
questions about culture
trying to make sense of a world that feels… off-balance
And I’ve realized something important:
These aren’t “senior issues.”
These are human issues.
Does the word “senior” really describe us—or just limit us?
Because when I listen to this audience, I don’t hear people who need to be managed or solved.
I hear people who:
question things
see through nonsense
have lived long enough to recognize patterns
That’s not a demographic.
That’s a mindset.
And I think that mindset deserves a bigger conversation.
I’ve decided to evolve the podcast.
Not away from you—but because of you.
The conversations we’ve been having are too important to stay inside a label that suggests they’re only for one stage of life.
So over the next few weeks, Specifically for Seniors will become:
The Enlightened Cynic
For the discerningly disillusioned
I’ll explain exactly what that means in a short podcast episode shortly.
But the most important thing to know is this:
The voice isn’t changing.
The honesty isn’t changing.
The curiosity isn’t changing.
We’re just opening the door wider.
Quick note because I don’t want anyone to worry:
If you’re subscribed, nothing breaks.
The name will change. The artwork will change.
But you don’t have to resubscribe, re-download, or go searching.
You’ll just wake up one day and see:
The Enlightened Cynic
Same voice. Same conversations. Just a bigger table.
